Removing 2006 Shift Knob
Hey everyone who has a 2006, how have you been able to remove the shift knob ?!?!?
i removed the screw but it won't come off at all i've pulled and pulled again i also tried with a mallet but no luck.
Anyone has got that much trouble in taking it off ?

I just pulled mine off, if you want it to go back on, you'll have to use some sort of glue. It will keep poping off because of the reverse lockout spring. I pulled mine off accidently and almost threw it through my open sunroof, but the Hurst is threaded on so I don't worry about that anymore.

I answered a thread exactly like this a few hours ago, not tryin to be rude, but please search
It will come off, it is just press fit on really tight and held on by a screw. Try taking the whole assy out of the car, securing the shaft in a vice and keep twisting on the knob,,, it will come off

I'm assuming the shifter is different on the SS models from my LS, cuz while I haven't attempted to remove my shift knob, it looks to me like it would screw off just like the stock shift knob on my corolla. Eventually gotta get a better looking one, the stock LS shifter just looks cheap (which I guess is appropriate considering the car cost less than $12k brand new lol)
