service maniger said something interisting....

well today i take the car in to get the window fixed as my other thred said and while i was talking to the service maniger i started asking him about the clutch on my car cuz its SHOT...slips real bad!

he told me that sence my car is still a "lease" the clutch would be covered for the full 36k miles....

so i think i'm gonna call them tomorrow and have them swap a clutch in her so at least i'll have a nw stocker to burn up untill we get this crap worked out with the aftermaket units.

pretty cool huh!

that is not "taking advantage" if his clutch is toast and the lease covers it. if it is toast from undue abuse or isn't actually bad, then yeah

The dealer covered my clutch and complimented me on all of my mods and how he's never driven a car that responsive since he drove the Zo6 on the lot.

Excuse my language, but R U ****** KIDDIN ME?! You sayin that as if guy was shellin it out of his own pocket or something! Dont know what your thinkin but thats quality customer service. There's an obvious clutch issue(im sayin ckutch issues but that includes all hardware and fluid issues) with these cars and just because they roll off the assembly line in that shape doesnt mean we have to take it. I work hard for my money and you or anybody else for that matter should understand that I damn well better get what I paid for. The only one he's stickin it to is the man, in this case the man is GM.

Sorry bout the long day but ya gotta do what you gotta do...

i gots news for ya

i got news for ya.
no way that they actually cover the clutch.
clutch is considered a wearable part just like brakes and tires.

while i wont say its impossible, just unlikely.......ill hold my judgement until it is actually done.

see thats the funny part...eveybody says that about parts.

the clutch and breaks SO FAR I've had the breaks on the front replaced 4-5times...about to be a 6th and the rear's 2-3 times from the dealer under warrenty so i'm gonna give the clutch replacement a try!!!

i havent had the time to call the guy yet.

Wow your story is unbelievable since it says in the warranty that clutch is not covered under warranty.

If they (the dealer) believe there is a problem with the quality of the part it seems like they are usually willing to fix it to make a happy customer, reather than blame the customer and lose loyalty. This was the same case on my mom's 01 Monte's front brakes, at 15k the inside pad was gone and outside was brand new on both front wheels, obviously there was a problem with them from the factory, they took care of it under warrenty because it was a defect, even though it included wearable items.

it depends on how many miles are on it.... if it is a defect, then it WILL be covered
