Shaking Under Acceleration

To begin with, I know what axle bind is and that my axles are definitely not properly aligned.

The car currently sits on SSC springs and stock struts/shocks, which I believe are on their last leg.

Awhile ago, the car shook a little while under acceleration. I got a TTR Upper Engine mount through trading from a friend, put it in, all shaking went away.

A few days in a row I ran the car hard, going to meets, out driving with my buddies on back roads, etc. And right after those few days, the car started to shake like hell under even the slightest acceleration, but very unnoticeable while cruising, barely on the throttle.

My first thought was that the transmission mounts ripped. So I bought OEM stock fairly low mileage ones from a friend, took my old ones out, put these in. My rear one was pretty ripped up and loosy goosy. The front was meh, still relatively fine.

Went for a drive, shaking went down alot, but it's still there. From what I know (previous owner is still a member on here) the axles are still OEM with 110k miles on them.

My next thought and something to try is replacing the axles. I'm just curious if any*one has any other thoughts. I don't want to replace the (probably bad anyway) axles and the shaking still be there with no more ideas.

Figured this forum needs more activity too, so I thought I'd contribute.

I had something that sounded like that once. I had switched trans mounts. I put them in. drove the car, then needed to torque them afterwards. don't know if that's it but something to try.

My car also shakes in first gear under 3k of rpm while trying to get up to speed, is this normal? Its not noticeable to passengers that ride in the car, but is noticeable to me.

Lowered on Tenzo Rs.

I didn't torque them to specs, I don't think I've ever torqued anything to specs, except for motor bolts.

That's what I figured, I'll be replacing them sometime soon.

I'll check these along with everything else when I change the axles.

The strut mounts are definitely bad too, not sure if that would have anything to do with the feeling of shaking.

to add my story

i had shakes, replaced the axles as i could hear the clicking from taking off in 1st

it was cured from about Nov. to about a few weeks ago. In that time i had new clutch and clutch stuff installed

new endlinks
new tranny inserts
new cabs(circle ones)

now my passenger side axle just feels sad, no lsd. it spins more than usual, stop and go takes more effort

i has a new axle in the trunk. i hear a clicking sound some times, since its not the driver side cant tell

car has vibrations since the tranny mount inserts, calmed a bit after some miles put on them

**** was jarring my nervous, dont like

I also take my wheels off to clean them and when i put them back on and drove to a car show the steering wheel was doing that violent shake like it did before replacing the axles, occurs about or around 65mph on certain parts of the freeway(40 mile)

i double checked the lugs and the shop had the fronts off after that day to press in my cabs

Do/did you have different tranny mounts other than stock, other than just the inserts?

What axles did you purchase?

The entire car shakes left to right, not just the steering wheel :/

And thanks, I was going to look at the Napa ones. Never was a fan of Duralast

Well even though my brother (a mechanic for years) and everyone else I know always advises against Duralast...

I'm going to buy the Duralast axles from Autozone tomorrow...

We'll see how this goes
