I believe it was motor swap with nitrous.

 

I had my exhaust dumping before the wheels on my Malibu and the rear rims never got any dirtier than whats usual and it had Dual 2.5" exhaust dumping about 2 inches from the tires. I will say this though it was the tightest fit exhaust system ever. It was like headders flanges> 2" of pipe> hi flow cats> 2" pipe >H pipe> 3" of pipe >45 bend >magnaflow muffler> angled tips. and that was under a 79 a/g body which i can only assume has way more space and higher ride hight. At stock ride hight with the magna flows as close to the car as possable it would still scrape on the taller speed bumps and certian curbs going into drives. Sounded mean as hell though and side dumps are definantly pantie moisteners.
