Unhappy slipping clutch

so yeah my clutch is slipping now....was doing out 55 and down shifted to 3 and shifted to 4th then 5th when i went into 5th kinda ground when going in...so i backed off and when i went to accelerate thats when i noticed it .....past month or so i kinda noticed it.....so i was on here at work on my phone and seen something about clutch glazing??? does this happen? i read if you go thru a few heat cycles while babying it that the glaze can go away...if so then how long will clutch last?? so im probaly going to go with a stock clutch because of the cost and im probably not going to do a lot of engine work to it for more power...where can i get a good cheap aftermarket clutch if it doesn't break the bank..

I wouldn't personally get a stock clutch again, If anything get the GM upgraded one, thats the one I have and its holds wonderfully and still feels stock

wow....only one reply.......thanks on the reply tho.....yeah i think im going to hold off and get a better clutch........is there many good aftermarket clutches out there that can use the stock flywheel? The reason im thinking on waiting on the clutch is because im pretty sure my clutch was just glazed.....i have driven the car 4 time since it first started slipping really bad and it has gotten better each time i have driven it......today after picking up my son from pre school it wasnt slipping....of course i wasnt getting on it or anything....but i did on the way back just a little and no slipping that i noticed....before i cld be driving 55-60 in 5th gear and push the gas down and it start slipping bad....but today no such luck it didnt even slip in 4th when i gave it some gas coming out of town.....was up around 4k and no slipping ....what you guys think? how long could this clutch last if i just drive normal? is it even possible to get on it like i was again? thinking of driving just normal until get aftermarket clutch.....

There are a few great clutches out there, but to get more life out of your clutch, why don't you bleed it? I had a similar problem and I bled it twice in a week and it brought it right back to its previous state.

You have a SS...can you get a GMPP clutch? Is so, best price is from crate engine depot.
It doesn't cost much, hold crazy power (for ss/sc anyways) and you can reuse your stock flywheel. Just get it resurfaced

KY Stage 1 we carry should meet your needs on the 2.2L, with little or no performance add on's.

Here are some options if you don't want the stock clutch.
Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Kit Chevrolet Cobalt 2.2/2.4L 2005-10 - Drivetrain
KY Clutch - Chevrolet Cobalt/HHR 2.2/2.4L F23 Trans Stage 1 - Drivetrain
Spec Stage 1 Clutch Kit Chevy Cobalt 2005-10 2.2/2.4L Ecotec - Drivetrain
This site does sell the stock clutch too (P.S. put their pic with link to their website and save 5%).

I'm kind of curious how do you have on the clutch, I have 50.5k on my 09 and have no slip at all.

Also look into their flywheels, depending on what cash you have, since it's out I'd say you might as well upgrade that too
