Unhappy Slop in drivetrain

So I have a 2006 cobalt ss with 42k on it non g85 trans. Here is what is going on. When I got the car or shortly after I started notice a dead spot as in when i was cruising let off the gas it would not start decelling it would take a few sec before it would cache and start decelling. So I put on poly trans mounts. It helped so I drove down to fl and I started to notice again so I retighten the bolts and it didn't help but when I did I had the rear mount preloaded. I loosen it and it the engine moved back to it's normal spot. I did a fluid change and it was not too bad had some metallic in it and the drain plug didn't have any crazy amount of metal. It does not grind shifts great. I put it in first and was looking for loose mounts and the only one I saw that had movement was the front engine mount. But I heard alot of looseness inside the trans. Any one hAve any ideas let me know
