time for a new Clutch?

I drive an 06 2.2 stick shift. Just a quick question about the clutch. my friend just had a new clutch put in and to activate it u really have to put ur foot down. But for my cluch i net u could put the clutch in maybe an inch or an inch and a half and it engages. Does that mean its getting time for a new one?

you mean disengage? I believe you can adjust it, but don't really know how people do it, believe the pedal.

Yeah, the point of engagment is adjustable, slipping is what you have to look out for

ya disengage. I was under the impression that the as the clutch wears out the less u have to put the pedal down

If it isn't slipping under load in third or fourth, it's still fine. With the hyd clutch I doubt the engagement point changes much with wear. I never noticed it on mine anyway.

If you mean the tach needle rises to 3k and drops back down to 1.5k the clutch is slipping but you shouldn't be going WOT less than 2500 rpm in 3rd anyway. Downshift Man!
