So i figured out i don't know how to put pics in the thread so they are on my profile for who ever wants to see them.

This will be a full indapendant cadillac catera rear end with the chevy s10 new venture gear 1500 5 spd(changed because of availibility) and the 2.4L vvt ecotec motor. Metal to beef up the rear end, drive shaft (already have the yok and out put) sub frame connectors and motor mounts is next on the list. Also now i am changing the hubs, bearings, calipers, rotors and pads for the rear end (found them to be not up to par). I know this isnt going to be easy and will take a while but is already started. There will be more pics to come as i progress on the car and a video posted on youtube of the car in action when i am done bear with me as i am doing most of the work by myself and will be taking my time to ensure it is done right the first time. i will enjoy sharing the first street legal rwd cobalt with everyone and hope i can use everyone to bounce questions and ideas off of to make this work.

Subed... It really cannot be that hard to do if you have the know how ( which I do not lol)... I have seen cobalts at the track that have been made into rwd and are v8 swaped... And I looked them over real good lol they were at some point it their life a real cobalt bought off the lot lol... So I know it can be done but to use a ecotec motor... That is going to make this bad ass!!!!

Subed!!!

Yeah, Ninja, the guy I bolded in the second quote, I remember him. Some of these new guys weren't even around then.

I believe he had some crazy tragic story with funds. Can't remember the details. I remember they tried to get a fundraiser going for him or something.

^^ That's it. Craziness. That's dedication right there. Just saying F*ck it to the man and doing it in anyway.

I also believe if I remember him saying he threw in the towel. I would like to do this one day but I want the car to still have that, from the factory feel and not tubbed out. A lot of work and money though.

You know I always wondered how hard it would be to take the tranny and rear end from a sky redline or solstice. Since they share the lnf and everything. Might be a thing for the lnf guys to think about. If I hit the lotto, I will definitely make a rwd lnf cobalt.

Eh. Not a big Ferrari fan tbh. More of a Lamborghini man. But no if I hit the lotto I would have a SS/SC and a SS/TC. If I bought a Lambo I prolly wouldn't drive it because I'd be too worried about it getting messed up.

He didn't give up. He's local to me so I'll be able to see it in action at the track. He hopes to have it done by summer.

It looks like a beast.
