Pyro'z Mechanics is the name of the shop... Don't remember the guys name... I'm gonna call him later today to see what he thinks is the best option he was talling me about a trans that the pontiacs were using that's a manual which I'm guessing is an F23. but he said he would end up making his own gears out of iron so I wouldn't break a thing. Said he would be able to flash whatever to my ECU too so that it wouldn't throw a codce or anything. Guy seems to know what he's talking about. He built a TSI Talon trans that's holding 800WHP out of a custom gear et that he made. He was looking into the 4t65, the 45 with 65 parts init, F23 and another manual trans that he was looking at.. so we will see. Said he wanted a few days to do some reasearch and see what would be most cost effective and most reliable.

Wow. That's a lot of possibilities there. I don't think the actual gears are what fails in the 45's but yeah sounds promising.

So I just replaced my throttle body and i'm still getting a p2122. TPS low voltage input. This means the throttle body tps/app sensor saw less than .31 volts or something like that for more than 1 second. The sensors all get power from the ecu so either something is wrong there, both sets of pedals I have are bad, or the wiring in between is somehow eff'd.

I can't see both my pedal assembly's being bad especially when I know it worked perfect before the swap. I also don't really see a problem with the ecu powering the sensors. That just seems unlikely. And I've looked the harness over time and time again. I am tied into a data wire for my trans controller but that isn't a power wire so it shouldn't have anything to do with that specific code.

And i'm STILL getting cam sensor codes. So annoying when I know it's timed properly

The car would start and run in EPR before I switched throttle body's now with the brand new one it won't even fire. Weird thing is that all of the tps codes disappeared minus p2122 and the throttle body responds perfectly in correlation with pedal movement where as with the old one it wouldn't and it would also throw p1516 and a couple others.

Haha not working to bad for having the maf clamped to the throttle body.

Best feeling in the world when there's zero codes

Now I need to finish my cold side and wire some gauges!

Then tuneeee

All the driving vids are at 4 psi. Car needs aligned and I still need to tweak a few things in the stand alone for the trans then i'll go to ten pounds for a while.
So far so good I'm very happy with how everything is going. Never thought I would see this day! Before I took the wastegate springs out it was the craziest feeling. Just rolling on the throttle maybe 40 percent in any gear it was instantly making 12-15 psi. The auto is a completely different animal.

This is with a cat and resonator bolted on. Still sounds bad

It's not broke, the stand alone is what the speed sensor is plugged into so the trans knows when to shift. The controller has a digital output wire for that specific purpose I need to run to the speedo yet. If I can get it aligned and inspected by then i'll be there. Well maybe just aligned haha I won't be on the rollers tho I doubt i'll have the tuning done. Even if I do i would only push it to 15 pounds max and that just wouldn't even be fun

Nobody cares anyway lol well minus you that is! It's not what "everyone else" is doing... I just like to get on here once and a while to see what's been going on

But yeah the update!

So while i was driving her to get inspected back in the fall I left my load reference wire for the stand alone unhooked (bad idea) and all it took was one time rolling into the throttle to completely smoke the forward clutches, the direct clutches, and the reverse clutches... Don't ask lol It's funny how I can put the entire thing together, wire it, tune it, and think it'll be ok to drive without the only wire hooked up to control line pressure. Sometimes I amaze myself. I mean I figured I would be rebuilding her eventually but not this soon.

So as it stands RIGHT NOW I actually spoke to my trans guy today and by the time I get home from California my 4t45 will be back together with all new clutches/steels that are good for 650 and some billet accumulator pistons. Oh and a welded diff compliments of this guy.

I am pulling the motor out when I get home tho. Found a tiny eternal head gasket leak when i dropped the trans so I'm going to have the head decked and looked over again before the tranny goes back in. Last time i dropped the car down onto the engine/trans/sub frame it worked super slick so thats why I just decided to yank it out again. Easier to do the head work that way, time it, and bolt the trans on when its out of the car. Then I can tidy up some wiring, plug a few holes, and maybe do some paint work.

But before it hits the street this spring I have a few...Other plans for her. I don't think I showed you guys that intake manifold either. I was really happy with how that turned out!
