trans fluid

What Trans fluid should be used in the turbo cobalt? And what is the best fluid to use. someone told me to use redline.

Many Cobra and Z06 owners swear by GM synchromesh. I'm switching to it soon as well.

Edit: Pennzoil Synchromesh is a good choice as well.

One person I know said redline made a big difference in shifting

Either use the stock GM fluid, P/N 88862472 (NOT SYNCROMESH) in the TC or RedLine MT-85. You need a GL-4 fluid, not GL-5 and no limited slip additives or friction modifiers. The diff is sealed.

The stock fluid is Castrol SynTrans rebranded for GM, but hard to find in the states.

I ran the Redline MT-85 and loved it.

The MT-90 is fine, just a little heavier viscosity than the Castrol SynTrans GM LNF fluid. MT-85 is a very close viscosity match to OEM from the research I've done.
