what clutch?
what clutch?
It is almost time to replace my clutch. I was wondering what aftermarket clutch you guys would recommend that will last longer than oem? I have gm1 and no other significant mods.
Thanks
Thanks
Is this the one?
KY Clutch - Chevrolet Cobalt/HHR 2.0L F35 Trans Stage 3
Is there one that is not the "puck" syle? I would prefer one that was not. No future mods except poss. CAI.
Thank you!!!

Even ZZP's and SPEC "+" which are claimed to be "full face disc" is a puck on the stage 3 & 4. It is the steel backer that is a full circle on theirs, but if you look closely there is still pads/pucks on them; which is no different than a puck. Nothing wrong with how they do it, but it all comes down to you have to do it this way to hold power.
Aaron is a good guy. I've heard 95% good things from the KY clutches. The 5% is just that bad part. Thats always a risk when you buy anything. You'll be happy with the KY. I would also recomend new flywheel bolts and flywheel. Might as well make sure everything is good to go.
Thank you guys! Am looking into it as we speak
It looks like stage 3 is over kill for me rated at"475 ft lbs torque capacity" where as stage 2 rated at " 365 ft lbs torque capacity" would sound to be a better fit. I have heard of "chattering" with some of the puck clutches. Any truth to these claims?may have a cpl questions later.

On the SS/TC get the stage 3, it is not that much more... Issue is the LNF has so much low end torque, you need a stage 3 to hold it. Plus you wont be stressing the stage 3 at all compared to the stage 2.
Most all LNF members get the stage 3
Most all LSJ members get the stage 2
Hope this helps.
