once you get some power you have to be careful on the 1 to 2 shift. especially the way the rpms drop like crazy, and the way the cluch's like to slip to to driver error. as far as actually missing, 2nd is kinda hard. but the 3-4 shift is by far the easiest to nail every single time.

To me it sounds like you havn't quite learned the car yet. Keep practicing.
that's exactly what i did. or sometimes the other way around =/

ANYWAY in conclusion to the thread, It is there by ASSUMED I shifted to 2nd. Yes I admit that's a silly n00b move. Yes I admit I am a n00b when it comes to racing. So no You guys can't really make fun of me for something I admit. This is why I DON'T race in the first place. I'm not the racing type. And it will stay that way or else I'll make more silly mistakes. That's why I don't do any performance mods. And I have a F23 transmission. Problem solved. /thread

Yep. You have to be careful with the feet otherwise the clutch will get slip happy. I was driving mine hard last night, took 1st to redline (7200) and then hit 2nd.. The tires broke loose and I almost went off the road because the car torque steered hard to the right due to the crown in the road. It was the first time I really got on it hard from 1-2 since it was stock, big difference. And I need new tires bad. lol

you just need more practice. 3-4 is the easiest in a cobalt.

yeah, if anything it'd make sense to miss 3rd, but not 4th.

You definitely hit second gear. How can you miss 4th as it's straight down? To get into second you have to go a bit to the left then down. I down shift from 5-4-3 with no problem.

I honestly have no idea man... lol I never have any problems unless I'm redlining gears I usually always miss the gear in 4th... thats about it. and the 4th gear grind issue occasionally.. i still think i just shift way too fast

It didn't because if it did it would stay in that mode and throw a code. Ask me how I know.

It's a waste of money anyway. Is the single CD MP3 capable or no? If it is then basically you are paying 295 extra or w/e it is for internal storage space. I don't even use CD's anyway, only when my iPod dies.

Read my post in why did you buy a 2.4 in general cobalt you'll see why. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/general-cobalt-68/why-did-you-buy-2-4-a-127511/

I'm not sure actually.. but like I said before I don't use it just my iPod so I couldn't really tell you..

Ok well listen guys I gotta head out got some errands to run with my dad, and a party at my friends later. I'll probably chime in every now and then on my sidekick. Sorry for the n00b move and I'm sure it was entertaining for everyone =/

The F23 clutch is beyond forgiving.

The F35...I am still trying to figure this one out.
