Unhappy what is it? Please help.

Lsj 05 ss. 1st to second can be very sloppy. Stock shifter. At times I need to double clutch to make it change gears smoothly. Is it the shifter or the trans. Even slowing down with the clutch in at around 15 mph first is impossible to find. I have no grinding. Just trans slop.please help me.

stop the car on level ground. put the car in first. push the clutch down. run the motor up to near the red line. if the car moves your clutch is not fully disengaging, in which case you're looking at throwout bearing.

Do you still have stock mounts? If not, then it could have something to do with the throw out bearing or clutch rod. If so, then I would change them out.

I believe they are stock mounts. I had been reading about the rods. I guess it's time to figure this out. It's getting worse.

stock mounts are horrible on the lsj. If you're not planning on putting down big power, you should just get the upgraded mounts (basically they're lnf mounts). Otherwise get some rotated mounts from your favorite vendor or slap some polyurethane inserts in there (if you don't mind turning your car into an oversized vibrator for a couple thousand miles).

Thanks for the help man. I also noticed today when you are slowing down to a stop it will not go into first unless you double ckutch it. The clutch itself feels strong. Is it possible the shifter it's self is messed up? It feels extremely sloppy.
