whats different about my redline trans

So i have a 04 redline. and everyone that sells trans mounts sells a 04 redline then a 05+ redline cobalt.

what is different about my trans. is it the mount on the trans side or the mount on the body side?

the reason I'm asking is i don't have the lsd. I'm thinking about getting a whole g85 trans from the junkyard instead of just buying the lsd and installing it in my trans.

so if its the trans side i can just get a trans if its the body side i'm fawked haha

It is the transmission mount on the body side (rear) The differences as far as I can tell from reading the drawings is that the newer on has stiffer rubber. You should be able to use the either on your car.

THe only difference is the 04 trans case is not machined for a vss sensor off the diff crown gear ( all 05 redlines and cobalts on to final my use the diff crown gear for the vss.)
04 redline takes the vss off the intermediate shaft.

LNF trans cases compared to all others are slightly difference in case ribs.

you can put an 05 up case in a Redline (plug the vss hole with a vss sensor) but you cannot put an 04 trans in any other year without either machining the trans or installing an 04 intermediate shaft with vss, rewire and re-cal.

04 has a different front engine mount but that has zero to do with the transmission, it is the cradle front mount ears are located in a different position.

Qwik nailed it. the trans isnt actually the issue when it comes to mounts....its your subframe.

Pick any IRL/SS trans you like itll bolt right in and work fine, but you still wont be able to get mounts
