installed the yyz springs on my friends car this weekend. along with a clutch.

i don't think there was any drop at all. the car did handle well for the small amount of time i drove it though. we took a few turns hard and the car drove very smooth. will see how the yyz compares to my ksport coilovers when we go autocrossing. i'll make a run in both cars. he'll probably be buying koni's soon as well. we'll see how much the springs settle in a week or two.

here are some rotated mounts that were not purchased from powell, but from "another vender."
these were purchased last december.

as you can see.....they're all kinds of torn. crappy spacers. yet another reason to stick to the original maker of these mounts.

indeed. stick to powell on the rotated mounts.
the other vendor uses cheap inserts that will just tear.

lol. I only plan on doing it one more time and that's on my car. It's pretty simple actually. I had never done it before so i kind of used my buddies car as a guinea pig to perfect mine.
His car runs perfectly though and although we ran into small issues we worked them all out. We used frog's how to and it was helpful. most of it you just figure out though as you're doing it.

I will let you know when I finally plan that trip to San Marcos lol. If you are there to help (i'm assuming you wouldn't leave me by myself with your car) I would help you do it no charge. I've gotten pretty good at it lol.

Well dropped it once when replacing the motor, then again to replace throw out bearing, and again to put the new clutch and another new tob in there lol

I am not exactly sure if I am 100% but this is my understanding. But if I am wrong please correct me.

Every single Billet mount made and sold through Powell from 2009 to 2010 and every single Billet mount made through OTTP from 2009 to current has these bushings. Powell and OTTP had their breakup in 2011. Josh sourced his own manufacturing for the mounts. And it sounds like John switched out the bushing he was using to supply OTTP with better ones at that time.

The bushings John talks about in 2006-2008 are the ones that were retro fit into stock mounts.

So if I am understanding it right, the only billet rotated mounts that you don't have to worry about are the ones manufactured in 2011 and 2012 from Powell.

some right some wrong. Eric pays attention and tries to figure it out. OTT wanted to get money out of the mount. So the cheaper insert was one way to do that. At the time GM went broke in whenever, I could not get good inserts from them. I used the cheap Bilstein v dub inserts for a while for ott, and when ott started doing the copies they did what they did...2010 on iirc.

Blazin has the good mounts, all my billet ones had the good inserts in 2009 and I paid 58 dollars for the insert alone, so go figure how tough it was to get parts back then...The Paul has some orginals , the stock housing with a double insert, still good... awesome. James Allen had one of the first mounts, he was in Germany, but he sold the car some time ago.

The cheap insert doesnt work, I have helped a few folks with bad ott mounts but at some point the bleeding has to stop lol.... Our all steel mount is working well, the f23 folks are 100% satisfied so far, and I have done two quirky Ion 2 03 mounts. weird what saturn were doing bitd...
