dyno preparation

If there is another thread explaining this please post a link. So far I cant find one.

Anyway can someone explain the steps to prepare for a dyno day? Some of my personal questions are:

1. Who drives the car on the dyno?
2. Can you dyno with a fresh clutch?
3. How long does a dyno session last usually?

Any other tips, tricks, or information is greatly appreciated.

Usually the dyno operator drives the car. Probably shouldn't dyno without breaking that clutch in first. And most dynos give you so many pulls for a set price but there's others that you pay an hourly rate for the dyno if you are using it for tuning.

i wonder if using a dyno for 500 miles to break in a clutch is the same as driving the car for 500 miles lol

All dynos read differently so don't be butt hurt if you get low numbers

Dyno prep is no different than prepping for the track. If your plugs need to be changed, do it. If your brakes need to be replaced, do it. If your comfortable running your car down the 1/4 mile the way it is, then its fine for the dyno
