im guessing the radio is toast and the harness is toast. not really a surprise on the harness somewhat on the radio BUT both should be easily replaced under warranty. now how they installed it idk but i'm betting they are trying ever trick in the book to no have to warranty the radio

that the 100 harness you were suggesting means he wouldnt need to get the xm hardware for the clarion

I was just suggesting that harness as an alternative. But you are right, it does seem like they are trying to do whatever they need to do to wipe their hands of it.

sooooo got info today and they said they called clarion and clarion said that either a burned disc or a mp3 file on my ipod fried my HU because the unit says corrupted file. so they are getting me a new radio and i should be good by tomorrow. clarion says its not the first time thats happened but its because of downloaded music. seems clarion might be using cheap parts to build radios and over pricing then if thats the case because my factory pioneer didnt have any issues in 2 years with my ipod and i dont play cd's but i guess maybe a music video dvd might have done it i dont know but now i cant even put in dvd's anymore because ill be nervous it will happen again. this one will be under warrenty but im sure if it happens again it wont be and im sure as hell not spending another grand on another radio

Honestly sounded like a ground problem, at least from what I was reading here. Like they borrowed or shared a ground with the window circuit.
