100 sq fatmat?
would 100 sq cover the floor and trunk and doors? i have searched the forums all over and cant decide what kind of sound dampener to buy, i dont really have a huge buget so i dont want to spend $250 dollars on b-quiet when i can spend $125 on the same amount of fatmat. does anyone have fatmat that can say that they are a good product? in my trunk i am running two boss 12's powered by a quantum audio 4000w amp. also does putting it in the wheel wells help lower the road noise a lot?

100 sq feet will cover what you need it to. and I suppose you could put it on the wheel wells, but I don't know if fat mat is designed to take all weather conditions....you'd be better off sludging the underbody.

i was doing some research on lizard skin.. one gallon is like 100 bucks and its half the thickness of the mat type dampers and its supposedly better than them too.. some kind of ceramic coating or something, might wanna look into it.. came out on the show hot rod tv on spike

dude, basically, it's all the same ****.....they always advertise ZOMG OURS HAS LYKE TOTALLY THIS MANY MIL, TRIPLE FOIL BACKING blah blah blah....it's the same ****...the only thing that differs is ease of application really....cheap **** is harder to apply...and how it stands up to heat....cheap **** can slide off under heat etc.... Other than that, its all the same. You'll be just fine. Do I have a preference? Yea, I like how second skin goes on and how the foil is below the butyl....but that's just personal preference.

You'll be alright man....fatmat is bang for your buck....just get yourself a roller and it'll apply just fine.If you ever want to add a "higher quality" deadener, it's not like it'll decrease in effectiveness if you stack them...

thats very true. my biggest thing is that my trunk rattles like hell, if i sit on my trunk it doesnt rattle lol, its just so loud outside my car when my subs are on. but since i am buying 100 sq ft i want to do the doors as well. doing the doors will reduce a litttle bit of the road noise right? and doing the floor?

100 sq ft is enough to do the whole car but idk how well fatmat works. and regarding its all the same it is and it isnt. a decent way to tell if something is good or **** is how it comes generally if the "foil" is bs enough to be on a roll then its just re-branded roofing ****. if the product comes in sheets there's a better chance for a better product.
also dont let the numbers fool you a high sq ft isnt always necessary and the most important thing about sound dampening is how you apply it.

no but thats a general tell of whats ok product and whats better product. sorta like brakes on a car if you see a car with big ass breaks its probably faster then if you see some tiny drums
when i say how you apply it its everything... how well you prep the surface, where you put the product and how well you roll it on
