2 X Stock Sub
2 X Stock Sub
I got my hands on a second stock sub.
Since the stock sub is a dual voice coil , can I put both inputs from 1 speaker to 1 out of the amp and do the same for the other sub?
I know I will be doubling the resistance on each pair out amp out but would the AMP be able to support it?
Is it worth it or will I just have the same output but on 2 speakers instead of 1?
THanks

so you will be wiring it to 4 ohm vs the 2 ohm stock?
If you use 2 woofers vs 1 on the same power at the same ohm level it will be louder but if the ohm level changes and power decreases then you may not get an increase in volume

well thats partially correct... now i'm not 100% on the ohm rating on the stock woofer but if it is in fact 2 ohms like stated then one factory woofer plays at 1 ohm due to the two voice coils which means that combining the two would then drop it to roughly 0.5 ohm. NOW, if that didn't confuse you enough, your factory amp is rated to play at 1 ohm mono so dropping it to 0.5 ohm would essentially double the output power BUT thats only gonna happen for as long as the amp can handle it. an amp being rated @ 1 ohm mono means that that is the highest RECOMMENDED usage of the amp. I've seen people run 1 ohm amp at 0.5 ohm and it last great forever. I've also seen someone hook it up like this and it fry immediately.... so will the amp be able to power the two, YES, but how long the amp will last will be unknown. Being as it is a factory amplifier i don't recommend it but then I'm not you.....
