2010 USB radio in 2006..?

Hey guys,

So, just a quick question. Based on the sticky of FAQ, I'm assuming no, but let's see. My friend has a 2010 t/c with the USB OEM radio. I have a Pioneer screen. Can I use his radio in mine? It seems like you need to re-wire stuff, but I didn't know if any new revelations have been made over time.. Considering going back to stock, but still want to use the iPod in the car..

Thanks!

Only way to know is check the wiring layout and then call gm and see if they will unlock the radio..

nope wont work with a 2006. if it was an 07+ then yes all you would need is the radio unlock which is anywhere from 30-100 depending on how fucked up your dealership is but for an 06 its not really possible

It isn't impossible, but it has only been done once. It requires an extensive repin of the stock harness and a tech who knows the unconventional methods of doing the VIN relearn. The normal method locks the tech 2 up.
