so im installing a Double din headunit this weekend (June 26th). i am using the Metra wiring harness and keeping the stock amp set up. (good bye onstar and door chimes...don't need either)

NOW for the ?.....

can i run a set of components from the H/U to an aftermarket amp/sub and just disconnect my stock sub?

this way i could have better bass, control it off the headunit, and still get the normal sound/split from the stock speakers / amp
basically it would be like have 2 amps and 7 speakers (the speakers are split from the stock unit and the base controlled on another)

 

if you are asking can you keep the door speakers and everything stock and just add an amp and sub for the bass (disconnect stock sub) then yes
