Remote Radar Dector Control
Remote Radar Dector Control
I have the valentine 1, and It's mounted at the bottom center of my windshield. It's quite obnoxious to have to lean forward three feet to mute it when entering shopping centers.
I'm a bit confused about the concealed display. It's not concealed if you still have to have the actual radar detector on your windshield.
What do you guys think? I'm trying to think of an intelligent place to mount and wire the concealed display.

I wouldn't bother with a concealed display. You really don't need it.
Anyways, it works by disabling the stock display whenever it is connected.
I have mine mounted up high right by the mirror. If I get pulled over, I keep my insurance card in the visor, so I can easily just flip it down to hide it. I have it hardwired up to the roof through the driver side pillar.

I'm confused about concealing anything. It's my understanding that detectors are only illegal in VA. I have the 9500iX and I got the accessory hard-wire cable that includes the mute button to be mounted anywhere on the dash. I keep the detector low-center on the windshield since it needs sky-view for the GPS features.
I think the only risk when pulled over is not getting off with a warning when you have a detector in plain view, which I'm guessing might **** the cop off. But then again, if the thing works right, you won't be pulled over in the first place, will you? =p

DC and Military Bases also.
Anyways, the cops even in non ban states tend to frown upon them, and sometimes apparently people will tailgate you in order to see if you're getting tagged.
Edit: Colo... why exactly are you putting your sig in the post itself rather than in the signature function of VB?

and if you have a v1, it doesn't make sense to put it anywhere else but mid or high part of your windshield because it has a front and rear sensor that needs to be able to pick up signals.
