aftermarket subs problem while using stock sub
aftermarket subs problem while using stock sub
Ok so I recently just bought two alpine type r's that came with a 2400 watt pyle amp and capacitor. It was all used. I used the wires from a different setup that I had before which I used 8 gauge wire for and was disapointed when I got the new setup hooked up because it wasn't muchlouder than the stock sub which I still have hooked up. I used an rca converter that I wired up to the rear speakers. So after talking to some people I went and bought some 0 gauge wire because 8 gauge clearly wasnt cutting it. Hooked it up the other day and it's still not loud even with the gain and level up all the way up on teh 2400 watt amp. The subs work but they're not loud at all for 2 10" subs with a 2400 watt amp. I have one or two theories about why. Either the amp is a piece of **** or I'm thinking that maybe since the car has a stock 10" sub that not as much bass goes through the rear speakers which is where i'm getting my sound from. My friend has a g5 gt which is the same stereo and he had the same problem as me when he installed subs. They were weak as **** even though they were a good setup so he took them out. Should I or can I tap into the stock subwoofer for signal? I'm still running my stock setup and want to use an rca converter instead of aftermarket head unit.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? It should definitely be at least twice as loud as it is now.

Put in an aftermarket radio and those should pound. RCA convertors are POS. And your stock sytem will still be hooked up and usable. On mine I turn sunwoofers off thru my deck and then it's just stock sytem running, including the the stock sub. Only the aftermarket subs are off.
that amp sounds like its garbage, it sounds like 2400 peak, Im guessing the RMS is quite low. Also I've run my loc from both the sub and the rear speakers and got similar results both times.
2 12" type R's with 1200 rms amp and they hit pretty hard for a l o c

I need to reconnect the power before I do this but when I was installing it I played with those a lot and different combos made it louder but the loudest one still wasnt loud. With just one cable in im pretty sure that both speakers were still on but just werent loud. Ill check though
