Alarm question

I just bought a 06 ss/sc that has some mods, the keyfob doesnt work, when the door is locked with the key, then unlocked the horn will start to beep until the alarm utlimately goes off. Is this normal or is it messed up from the mods that have been done. Thanks

As soon as you open the door start the car.

Only way to not use the alarm is to manually push down the door locks. Your car sounds normal. Where in CT are you? We usually try and meet up every now and then.

chances are the battery on the fob is dead or the solder joints where the battery leads meet the board are broken...its a common problem with cobalt fobs, esp the 05/06 ones...just pop open the fob, replace the battery and resolder the joints and chances are it will work....god forbid it doesn't you're only out of like, $5

Go into the regional section, northeast, and find the CT cobalts thread. That's where we post about meets and stuff, and even the occasional dyno day.
