Amplifier Ground
Amplifier Ground
Where do you guys think the best place to mount my ground would be? The antenna mount looks promising but not sure if being close to the antenna lead will cause noise in the system.
The battery ground point is a long run from the amp. Should I drill a hole and weld a stud somewhere?

So i just bolted it to the hole and i'll fill in the other one.
(the yellow wire is to ground my amp chassis)
Think about grounding to the unibody this way - the power trying to get to the negative terminal has to pass through:
-The eye-ring terminal on the amp's ground wire to the unibody
-One or more unibody seams, which are spot welded at a few spots along each joint, not a continuous seam weld
-The battery bracket to the unibody
-The eye-ring terminal on the battery ground wire to the bracket
-The eye-ring terminal on the battery ground wire to the battery itself
Whereas if you were to run that wire directly to the battery, you'd have the following joint(s):
-The eye-ring terminal on the amplifier ground wire to the battery itself
Not a big deal if the amp isn't pushing a lot of power, but I'd always ground to the battery if I had the option to.

well I guess technically it's grounded to the floor panel, and the battery ground is grounded to the floor panel also, so it's really just going through the eyelets and the floor, to the welds in the ground bracket. LOL
amp will be pushing 750w rms max. so I think i'll be fine.
