Another 10" Question but for a LS
Another 10" Question but for a LS
I have a new 08" LS. I was wondering if it is possible to put the 10 in. pioneer subwoofer into a stock LS. If not how can i with out going aftermarket?
I'm not sure if it would be easy to add the factory one, or worth it. I would recommend getting a good 10" or 12" sub with a decent amp. Will still be affordable, and have that stock look inside the car.
I put the SS Pioneer 10" sub and enclosure in my 08 LS. The holes are there in the interior trunk panel, but you will need to come up with your own mounting hardware which isn't hard to do. I am powering mine off of a separate amplifier
the amp provides the power for the sub. the line level out is needed for the signal but there no power for the subwoofer. so in short no amp no sub.
no you cant just slipce into unless you get a converter. I have the stock deck with 2 subs and my amp running from it.... I bought a converter that coverts the LLO to the RCA plugs that plug into the anp. The converter cost around $20. You also need to connect the remote wire from the converter to the amp.
Also while having the stock look is nice, if your going for a lot of base your not going to like that sub. If you can find a good shallow sub that will fit in there you might be better off but at that point you might as well just go with a regular sub inclosure...

mida im all confused now adays...
OK scratch all the above info in this thread. Yes you can replace the stock sub with an aftermarket one BUT depending on the coil configuration and or ohms of the sub you probably will get LESS power from the stock amp. Aftermarket subs are usually more sensitive so would be louder then stock BUT even if you had the same power it wouldn't be terribly noticeable (at least not to warrant a $200 sub) So to answer your question yes you can replace only the stock sub with an aftermarket one of your choice but its best to add an amp for more power as well
