anyone that has installed the pac swi-ps, have a question

ok, im trying to understand this so i know what to expect when i install my stuff on sunday.. one of the directions on pac's site just doesnt make any sense.. Connect the SWI-PS 's Green wire to pin 11 (dk. blue) in connector 1 of the above connector. Connect pin 14 (white/black) in connector 2 to +12v accessory.

i understand i have to tap the green wire onto the factory harness, what about the second part of that sentence? it just doesnt make any sense to me.. from the way its worded, it sounds like i have to some how tap the pin 14 wire in the harness to a +12v accesory wire? how am i supposed to do that?

You put power to the white/black and the power goes through the switches which are resistors. The pac-ps reads what button is being pressed from the dark blue wire. I think the stock radio gives power to the white/black wire but when the radio is removed you need to add power to it.

cig lighter is constant. you dont have to cut wires necessarily. you can do a fuse tap as well

I am going to go with a switched 12v. I think that is what they mean when they say a 12v accessory. I don't think you want power going through it all the time. If the PAC-PS looses power it doesn't loose its memory. And for the cut and tap thing. I bought a second harness and added two pins so I wouldn't have to cut any of my factory wires.

ok so basically, tap the pin 14 white/black wire to a switched 12v wire.. now i dont understand how that will work since its not connected to the pac swi.. i mean it will be in the circuit or whatever but the wire wont be directly connected to the pac..

I not sure what pin it is for you cause 05 and 07 have a different plug. You hook the dark blue wire to the SWI-PS. The white/black is getting power. That power goes through the steering wheel switches and then the power comes out the dark blue wire which is hooked up swi-ps. That is how I understand it. I have done allot of looking trying to figure out how this works too. Hope I will have time to hook it up this weekend.

Look like you hook up the green wire from the SWI-PS to Pin A11 the dark blue. And power to pin A 14 white/black. Good Luck let me know how it goes. I am going to try to do what the instructions tell me to and hope that everything goes well.
