Anyone who installed pioneer nave/dvd unit

I bought the pioneer avic-x910bt and want to get a few things straight before starting install.

1. I already have 2 items(interceptor and wideband gauges) hooked to the sunroof fuse. would it hurt to wire the HU up to it?

2. I have done alot of searching. Is the VSS wire the yellow wire on the bottom harness in the ecm?

3. To bypass the the parking break, I need to hook the parking break wire to a toggle switch and ground the switch?

I appreciate any help

I just bought one as well. Hopefully it will be here by next weekend so I can install it. If you get it in before I do, let me know how the install goes, and how much you like it. To answer one of your questions, #3 specifically, when I hooked up my old pioneer dvd player, that's exactly what I did to bypass the safety feature, so I would imagine that will work here too.

#1 if u dont have a sunroof then ur fine if you do... thats pushing it but the pioneer gets most of its power from constant and the acc is for the most part just a remote turn on of sorts

its not getting full power from the fuse it is basically using it as a remote wire so that it only gets power when the key is turned to acc or the car is running.

i installed it today..but i cant get no sound from speakers... i have an 06 ss and used the 70-2103 harness. i searched and found that i needed to use the pink wire in the harness as the amp turn on..i dont know if that was for a 06 though. any help appreciated.

Search my threads for my install, I have alot of pics from when I put in my Avic D-2

1) Don't do that, it's lazy and sketchy. Buy a fuse tap and use one of your spare fuse slots. Clean, easy, and reliable. Pics for ref. in my install thread

2) Not 100% sure. I got lazy on this part and never went back and found a good VSS lead. My GPS works flawlessly without it hooked up

3) Not certain on your model. check Avic411.com LOADS of great info to be found on that site. My D2 just required 1 jumper wire on the harness and it works perfect. I watch DVD's (external player) and have full access to all navi and other functions while driving

i got the thing in and running smooth as of today...I will say that I like it from what I got to mess with it.. the bypass is a little different but not hard at all. It's currentley not on a switch but that may change. ill post pics tomorrow.

true or hit SRC and change it to the radio thats what I do...I have mine wired up through a relay. How's the whole "just grounding" the parking brake wire working? I've heard multiple things about doing it. Some people say it works, some say it doesn't. I'm bout to install a new head unit in my girls VW and if I can just ground the wire on a p3100 head unit I would MUCH rather do that then wire up a relay...

Just i like to heard radio instead of map watching. Whenever i moving alone for a long distance, almost i
prefer to heard radio on different channels.. In my old car i hadn't dual player, it was only supported radio
function.

when I drive to Ny from Ky and I have my ipod in, I can really only listen to it for like maybe...3 hours. Then I just get bored of music in general...I'll put in a movie and I don't even have to watch it...just listening to it was much better than music when you are just crusing...I don't put on movies I've never seen by the way...that way I'm not tempted to watch them.

I think I might have no clue what you're saying there, but you can play music, video, whatever audio source you want while the map is displayed.
