Question Anyway to control ipod through stock headunit??

I bought a 3.5MM cable today at the store to connect my ipod. Hooked it up and couldn't find anyway to control the ipod through my stereo. I had to change songs manualy using the iPod which was def not cool.

I'm used to my old cd player in my other car controlling the ipod through the cd player. Is there anyway to do this? If no I need to get that stock stereo out asap lol.

Thanks if anyone can help me with this, maybe I am missing something on how to control it???

no you can't, not through the aux plug. If you had usb you could. Why is this such a problem. Don't like looking down?

Yes I can't stand looking down and trying to use my ipod while driving lol. My pioneer headunit does so yeah I guess i'll be ripping out the stock HU and putting that in. Thanks for the clarification that I can't control it using stock HU.
