Audio system on LS and LT1 Cobalt

I was wondering if anyone knows the specific specs for the standard audio system on the Cobalt LS and LT1?

I know it is a four speaker system with XM, CD with MP3 capability and an AUX-IN, but I can't find any info on the power of the amp and the capability of the speakers.

Thanks in advance.

speakers are 6.5's up front,
6x9's in the rear.
stock h/u puts out about 10-25 watts per speaker

either way stock systems are weak.... aftermarket hus generally give 25w rms per channel so id guess alot closer to the 10w range

There are only two stereo systems that come in the Cobalts. The standard 4 speaker delco system that does not play MP3, and the 7 speaker Pioneer system that does play MP3 and have sat radio as an option. That system comes with a 228 watt amp and a 10" sub which is in the trunk.

How much per channel with the pioneer system? And are the radios any different? I know that with Bose systems they have different radios, they put out less power because there is a amp for every speaker. I wonder if the Pioneer system gets a different headunit.

Yeah thats what my LT 2.2 has, the sports package which comes with the the Pioneer 7 speaker MP3 system. That is the same system that comes with the SS and SS SC as well. And I thought that in the base Cobalt, Cobalt LS and LT with-out sports package only comes with the 4 speaker GM Delco system. I didn't know you can also get the MP3 deck with that.

the head unit is the same all around I believe (with the exception of the mp3/non-mp3 option) whether you have the ls/lt1/ss/ss-sc it's the amp/speakers/sub/tweeters that make the difference. But we might be able to help you out a little better if we knew what you were trying to achieve with the stock stereo.

I was just wondering what the specs were. The stock system actually sounds pretty decent when compared to my GTO's 10 speaker blaupunkt set-up.

Maybe in the future I will attempt to add an external amp, tweeters and subwoofer.

For the record my 2008 Cobalt LT1 came with MP3 and XM capabilities standard.

honestly folks, im finding that the stock 07 mp3 4 speaker deck from the ls.....actually gives a great signal, even after conversion to the low level rca. better than most stock decks i've delt with. if it were not for my stock ass 6x9's and 6.5's i'd be able to crank the deck bass up from the notch below the minimum. lol.

but next step will be the custom computer i'm putting into it. frickin prototype sitting in the closet. just needs a touchscreen monitor with usb cd player installed

:-P
