Backup Camera

I will be hooking up a backup camera this week to my navigation headunit which I already have wired. I have one question that im not really sure about. Where is the reverse gear signal relay located that I will have to wire into the headunit? Thanks for any help

Glad you got this ok. Good luck with the hook up. Post pics when you done, cause I never installed it on my girls car and I'm curious on the quality.

I'm lookin at a schematic of the car...and it looks like there is a pink (or pink/black) wire that comes from a "back up fuse" under the hood, that goes to the "back up lamp switch". From that relay comes a light green wire that goes to the reverse lights.

Also, its says that the back up light switch is located above the left side drive axle. Hope this helps a little

I don't have it *yet*, though based on the tracking I should have it in about two hours, I'll shoot you a PM when it comes

Ground that wire on your radio harness its going to your e-brake if a shop hooked it up (90 percent of the time) If you want video in motion, just ground it, if still want the the cam to go on in reverse, then just have the power wire of your camera go tap into the reverse lights power.

I think you should just have power to it when ever you car is on. That way, if someone is behind you, I don't have to put the car in reverse to have the camera on. You would be able to flip through you selection on you head unit and see whats behind you reguardless of gear. Plus, pullin the wheels and all that seems kinda like a hassell...just my opinion though

I was told by putting the reverse signal wire on the camera would come up just like when you first plug in a device automatically and you won't have to look for it. ALso, what does pulling the wheels have to do with tapping the signal wire?

Okay, I already installed the headunit, but I did ground out that wire in the process. What are the reverse lamps labeled as in the fuse box, any idea?

If your camera is in the back which im sure it is, all you need is the revers light power wire from the actual light, you will only need half the wire length or less then. The driver side color is green, its the wire loom running topside of the trunk far left driver side, just shave the wire and tap it.

Pulling the wheels? nothing My instructions are from experience.

whoa i dont even know wtf u guys are talkign about here.

OP follow the instructions on the back up camera It will have power ground and video out. the deck will then have reverse input u can wire to the reverse lights (i didnt go all the way to the trunk lid but pulled the wire loom traced the wire into the car and tapped it there (there's like 4 diff greens in the harness)

If installed properly with a good radio it will automatically come on when u put the car into reverse plus you can select it from the deck and look at whatever at any time when the radio is on
