Battery Location

For everyone that has upgraded your stock battery to a better battery, where are you putting it? If you have pics, can you post them up?

Right now mine is still in the stock spot but once my false floor is built I’m going to relocate it to the left corner of my trunk there is more space there and it will be easier to get to. The right side is where my gas cap is so the inner fender in my trunk is larger. In turn it’s a smaller space and it didn’t look right to me.

Cool deal stinkyfisherman, did you have any problems with the Shuriken battery in the stock location? I have a Kinetik HC1800 and it is too tall and makes the carpet stick up.

I've planned to do what stinky said. Stock batter where it is at and the 2nd batter in the back left fender. Just drilling holes and sealing the battery plate down to the trunk floor...

That's at least the plan.

Is the stock battery always located in the trunk? Does it matter if you have the $75 spare tire option or just the stock inflator kit?

correct on its side they will fit. but most batteries with the big top posts will make the trunk carpet rise like 1/2 inch. To most its not that big of a deal and you could grind a lil of the post off to help it a bit if you really wanted but thats sorta overkill

With my experience.... We have had much better luck with the stinger products... we have carried both kenetik... And we usually sell the Stinger Power batts.... But i love the power 2 Batts... Same capacity as a large power, but twice as smalll

I'm intrigued... are you saying the standard Optima Group 34/78 will fit in the stock battery "tray" and location w/o any modifications?

We found through testing that the AGM batteries, such as Optimas, perform poorly in very cold environments and offer no substantial improvement in lifespan over regular flooded acid batteries in extemely hot environments. However, I like the idea of not having a container of electrolyte inside the vehicle.

Where are the recommended locations to install a battery maintainer? Do I use that positive post in the engine compartment?
