Battery up front.....??

I have a 07 ls and i am thinking about putting my battery up front to help with my big 3. I also am going to put a battery in the back, maybe kinetic in both places. I know i would like to put it in the place that is occupied by the aircleaner. That means that i would have to have a put in a cold air pipe. Has anyone done anything like this before and if so i would love some pics....... help a guy out.

Would it not be easier just to run the wire back to the battery from the fuse box then frabricate some kind of battery mount under the hood?

You can fit 2 1400 kenitiks side by side in the spare tire well.
You can also put one 1800 in each well behind the tire

Don't be a dick to be a dick. Just explain when someone has a question and leave out the /fail or /thread crap.

x2 on spuns comment. plus if ur worried about ur system drawing too much power putting a second battery up front will only help about half as good as putting one in the back. remember batteries are slow and u really want them as close to the battery as possible when i first went to a comp my power/ground was 2/0 and 8in or less straight to the battery. voltage drop was pretty much in the mid 12s with 11.8 the lowest (after 3 consecutive runs) ask anyone else to run a T30001bd on stock electrical with upgraded battery and see what their voltage reads after 90 seconds of sine sweeps (350a draw)

I stare under the hood, and I just dont see where theres room.

I've been around cars for a bit, and even work for a place that installs stereos.

Never once heard of "The Big 3".

So, you fail.

If you haven't heard of the big 3, you need to do research before you put a system in your car. It's one of the best upgrades you can do. Big 3 the complete replacement for any need of a capacitor.

For the cost of wire, you'd be better off just running one large cable to back and running just one battery. Two batteries is almost never necessary unless you are going extremely ridiculous.

big 3 is very helpful assuming you have small wire stock... cobalt wire is pretty thick so yes the big 3 can help but only 1/0 or larger

Well turbo06sedan, if you work for a place that installs stereos maybe you have teens in beaters or people with mild taste. I live in Maryland and where im from, my age group of friends we go crazy with our systems. Im talking 8 15" subs in 4 runners, 8 12" subs in cavaliers and these are daily drivers for rocking the block and full tilt cranking from eastside to westside, city to county for at least 45 minutes to 2 and 3 hours at a time.

I just keep looking at our cars and from what i see the power goes from the alt to the fuse box and then back to the batt. So i can beef up the alt direct to the batt down the pass side for 1. Do the engine ground to chassis for 2. And the batt ground to chassis for 3. I guess i can leave the factry alt to fusebox in place. I am going to use Kinetic batts and i already have an batcap300. I am also not sure if i'm going to use 2/0 guage wire or something different. I already have 8 runs of 4 guage wire that is terminated. I could use it if i could fab up a connector for the wire. My only real reason to use the wire i have is money, or lack there of. I'm just lookinf for ways to make my car better!

Thanks for being another css.net member to overuse the word fail, someday people like you are just going to kill it. That was not in any way a fail....

I've seen 6 RF 15's in a Jeep Renegade, in a Diamond shaped box (Hard top stays on all year long)
How about 6 15's in the trunk of a 91 Prelude (2 aimed back 2 aimed up 2 aimed front)
I've also seen 4 18's shoved into the extend cab part of a Mazda B2200, there only 6-8 inches behind you when your sitting in it

My point is anything is possible, however there gets to be a point where less is better. You shouldn't sacrifice air space for more subs. Not that I'm saying that the guy with the 4 runner or the cavi. did, just as a general rule of thumb (IMO)
I'm guessing they took the back seats out of the cavi. That would give a whole lot more room

if ur running alot of power for long periods of time then what u need is an alternator. and im not going to call you out like brick because i'm sure you do work at a shop somewhere in maryland.... but the fact that you stated you have a large number of subs in a small vehicle sounds pretty stupid without a little more detail. Can it be done with a bunch of tiny subs sure but that doesnt mean its loud. and no way in hell its anything big

EmperorJJ1- I never stated i have a large number of subs in a small vehicle. I used to in a wall setup in a car i run for spl comp. I am going with two 12" or two 15" subs with 4000 watts per sub in i vented enclosure in the trunk, damn near all of it. I used ohio generator alts back in 02-04 but i havent called them in a while. Kinetic batts and either one 2/0,3/0 or 4/0 run or multiple smaller runs. Its raining here so that makes me not want to look at my car right now.
