Bluestar bluetooth/PAL and XM question
Bluestar bluetooth/PAL and XM question
This is my setup. 08SSTC with XM. I have added GM "Bluestar" Bluetooth and GM "PAL" ipod connection.
The issue is that If i am using my IPOD PAL connection (and i always am) and i get a phone call or text message (via bluetooth) SIRI text messaging FTW....
When i disconnect from bluetooth to go back to listening to my ipod it has switched to the XM preview channel. Every Single Time.... Basically the XM preview station and the Ipod pal run parralel to each other and share the same chanel... So to get back to Ipod i have to switch from the XM preview channel to an FM station and Back to the XM preview chanel which then starts the ipod again. I just dont wanth the XM to load at all. Simply Ipod. Just ipod. or FM...
Is there anyway to disable XM entirely? Im sure lots of people have this issue i just dont know if anyone has found a solution.

id ask GM but doubt they would have an answer. the only thing i can think of is removing the XM tuner but idk if the bluestar would work without it and personally not so certain id want to find out. you could also unplug the xm antenna from the tuner. this wouldnt solve the problem but make it so the xm preivew station could never connect so it would at least be silent while you are switching
Thanks for the response.
Yeah I pretty much dint want to start at the dealer haha. I figure someone has likely wasted there time and frustrations there and possibly had the answer. He'll enough people were gm tecs on here and have good info.
It's not so much the sound of the preview that is annoying just the fact that it doesn't imediately go back to iPod and requires manual change.
I think It would work without xm connected as the pal kit is supposed to operate on 07+ cobalts (some without xm) from my understanding.
