bypass parking brake wire
im sure there have been many post about this got a new pioneer radio with DVD they say to hook up the parking brake wire to 2 positive side of ur parking brake if i just hook it up 2 a 12 volt constant is this the same thing???
pioneers are smart... u need either a switch or a bypass module. Grounding it out wont work
ur lucky u didnt get a navi unit otherwise u would be fucked

HAHAHA, um no
I have the avic d3 which has the same harness as the unit your installing. On the white harnbess that plugs into the back of your unit take the mute wire and move it to the pin hole that is emty above or below where it currently is, its the yellow wire with the black stripe. Then after you move that wire, ground that mute wire, and the parking brake wire and your bypass is done
pioneer has put in that mute wire feature but its not hard at all to do

my pioneer doesnt have nav in it also ne1 have problems using the gmos lan 04 harness?? hooked up all my wires then my rca's for my front and rear outputs but cant get sound??? crutchfield said the harness is bad neideas??????????
yea .. i have an alpine and people think that buy just grounding it it will work .. some units like mine only go into dvd mode when the break in pressed then the hand break is put on and only in that order so i have a bypas module a pac-7 and it will send a signal to 2 wires 1 sec apart to simulate the break pedal then handbreak being set
i know you dont have nav, but the bypass is done the same way on the pioneers with video, nav whatever. My bypass works no matter when, no switch needed, move the mute wire and ground the mute and the parking brake wires and your bypass is set, its a pioneer thing, why you move the pin I dont know but I know it wont work if you leave the mute in the original spot
look on the stock harness for a pink wire. See if that is connected on the other side to anything. It should be remote
