You could use the box but the mounting depth isn't very deep. You could always use Rings of MDF as spacers to make the box a bit deeper if you are set on using that box. I have no idea what the air space is in there but it doesn't look like too much so that is another thing to worry about.

Figure out the mounting depth and the air volume in there and then pick a sub accordingly. When picking your sub, don't forget about the air displace by the sub too when you are calculating the volume.

In all honesty no i dont think you can, Even if you could get a sub to fit you would loose alot of sound due to the volume of the box.

you could go with a better quality low excursion sub, I'm pretty sure the box is sealed, so just look for something that is good in a box under 1cu ft sealed, and dual voice coil, not sure if's 2 or 4 ohm though.

I think read somewhere that the factory box is .67 cubic feet or really close to that. It was the same size my Rockford Punch HX2's required. I doubt that it would fit though. Those HX2's have a huge basket and magnet.

I had 2 10" Punch HX2's with a 700X amp. I knew people at Rockford and the amps was tested at the lab. I have the certificate showing that it but out 901 rms at 2 ohms . That thing kicked so much ass. My truck sounded so good.

I added an infinity sub to mine since I had problems with the stock sub and didnt want to put a larger box in because I need my trunk space. I filled the box with polyfill doesnt sound bad at all its a lot better than it was stock.

Heres the picture
