I am looking at purchasing an SS, and I'm just wondering if it is possible to mod a USB port onto the US8 radio to make it into a UUI equivalent. I would assume they are the same head unit (physically), one just has the USB port populated while the other does not, but since I don't have either on hand, I can't play around with them to tell.

The UUI may also use a different firmware version; if anyone knows of a way to flash new software onto it, I would be grateful.

Edit: I'm not worried about getting my hands dirty with a little soldering and wiring.

 

is it possible maybe. worth it no. they are the same physical radio but you need to do more then solder a usb connector in.

 

Just get a aftermarket radio , mine has usb and sd card. Love it cus I store all my music onto the sd card
