Can't decide what to get

I can't decide if I want to get the Pioneer AVIC-D3 headunit for my car or an unlocked iPhone? iPhone is cheaper but I have wanted a Nav system in a vehicle I own for years. It's too hard and I can't decide. Need help. FAST!

i hope that this is going to end this poll and help you decide what to get. im guessing you have cingular/at@t/or tmobile. when buying an unlocked phone you are purchasing a phone that is not configured to your network. what this means is you wont be able to have voice mail set through your phone ccorrectly and new voicemails will be sent to you via text messages. the biggest thing with an unlocked phone is you [U]WONT[U] be able to use internet through your phone. therefore it would be nearly useless, making it just like any other phone. for this reason i would go for the pioneer

dual is a much lower brand name than pioneer and this unit wouldn't come close to the AVIC D3

The D3 you don't always have to have it in. Like if you need directions, you can put the disc in, enter your destination and let it calculate the route then eject the disc. It will store that trip in memory and you can continue on without the disc in.

But the best use is to get a Ipod and use the Ipod cable to listen to all your music, then you can leave the NAV disc in all times basically, that is what I do.

Dual is a crap brand, don't buy that.

Here is a D3 for the same price http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-Avic-D3-...QQcmdZViewItem

Keep your eyes peeled on ebay, you can find really good deals. I got my D3 with Ipod cable and Bluetooth module for $585 shipped.

If u decide to get the Iphone look around at prices and on ebay. U can ulock it in 5 minutes yourself so DONT pay the extra $$ for an unlocked iphone.

To unlock it update iphone to 1.1.4, download ziphone, run ziphone, click button to unlock iphone and in a couple minutes phone will be unlocked and installer.app installed on ur phone. Go to installer.app on iphone screen and install aftermarket programs untill u pass out. install download programs through the internet connection in phone so u can do it while in class or work.
I can even tell u how to do it over the phone. If u decide to get the iphone and need help unlocking it for some reason pm me ur phone # and I will walk u through it.

that is not true....i have bought all my phones unlocked and i am avail to use all the features and more.....all u need is the proper passwords and pin numbers.....which you can find on any wireless website and ur set to go......and if u really want to get crazy with it....u can always hack you phone and add more shait to it....... but yea i voted for the d3.......i almost bought one the other day but i have other priorities.....
