choices for double DIN

I am wanting to install a double DIN in my 2006 2.4. I am looking at these two different models and would like your opinion. Thanks.

I'm leaning towards the second option myself.

pioneer isn't one of the choices I was looking at. Kind of on a budget but still want to go the double DIN route. Thanks though.

You can get Pioneer units for low $300's NEW on eBay. Like the 3200DVD model or something.. The Nav units are $450+

Worth saving up a little extra...

I just bought the Pioneer AVIC-X910BT. Its pretty sweet... Runs smoothly, nice screen, boot up isnt too long. Bypass mod to watch video while driving is easy to do. SD card slot upto 8gb, I have a ton of family guy and music I listen to right off the SD card and I love that beause its so easy to just pop out the card, add a song or video, and pop it back into the deck.

If you have an iPhone it works really well with it. Syncs contacts for bluetooth phone easly. If you purchase the cable for the iPod or iPhone you can function it straight from the deck too. Not sure if many can do that but probably can..

Forgot: GPS too... works great...

My whole setup was 1200 installed with iPhone cable and tax in

I found mine on amazon for like... 609 at the cheapest... but I paid alittle extra to buy it at futureshop because they thru in a free install. So if you dont mind installing it yourself then you can save a couple hundred.

If Pioneer isn't any good what do you recommend for a double din that doesn't flip out?

pioneer is my favorite brand. i actually had the dual like 2 yrs ago. it was ok, but the quality is not the greatest. i baid 100 bucks brand new for the dual from best buy when they carried it.

hmm. Eclipse, Alpine, JVC, Clarion, Kenwood. research anything vs pioneer... their slow, user interface is terrible, just junk... SoundStream has a nice DD than pioneer

But if your going to be cheap... go with your pioneer

Pioneer is no competition better than Dual especially in terms of quality.

But Im generally disappointed in my touch screen Pioneer. Couldve been worse but its generally a sub par product clearly made by THE laziest bastards in the world. but quality it has.

look kenwood. clarion. eclipse is gone :/
I dont even know where else but god not Dual

PS - I will get hate for this but Sony has the best user friendliness in the world. Of course Im not speaking for any other of their traits

It must be personal because I have a double din pioneer and I love it... I find the interface very easy to use, the touch sensitivity is spot on, the speed between menus is instant, the boot up time takes between 30-36 seconds but the radio still comes on as soon as the car is turned on, so unless you fly into your car and instantly need control of a feature on your deck then I dont think boot up time will be an issue.

I like the quality of mine, and everyone of my friends who used it while I was driving loved it too

What exactly are you looking for OP? What features? Specs? etc...

maybe we can point you in another direction, or offer you alternatives you hadnt seen/thought of before..

Im in the car audio/customization field as my job. you cant compare any of the brands i have listed with a pioneer. The quality is not the same... look up CES of MECCA or anything awards given to the companies with DD's and see what the outcome it. Yes its an ok deck if you aren't wanting to spend a bunch, but by no means is it the best

i have owned a bunch of double dins. pioneer is by far my favorite! dual was great for the price i paid, but the quality was just not there. sony is nice and easy to use. kenwood is trash, way to hard to use (thats what i have now.), alpine was really nice. but pioneer was by far the best.

I'm looking for something along the lines of being able to bluetooth easily and is IPod friendly and touch screen isn't a must but is a plus. Navi isn't a must either. Sound quality is what I'm looking for most. I have always wanted a double DIN in my car. I'm not a huge fan of Pioneer myself. Their products just seem like they are cheaply made.

I loved my kenwood dnx5120! around 400 on ebay. bought the dash kit, pac cable, antenna, harness, and ipod cable on ebay. I loved it, someone else thought they might love it so they bashed in my window and stole it. I was in the process of researching car alarms...just didnt do it fast enough. It was nice tho and after install the entire setup was around 850. PM me for pictures.

if you've owned a dual and pioneer and you say pioneer is better... well yeah.. dual, jensen, phase linear, VR3, Visonik they are all bullshit. and yes pioneer will be a way better unit then those. the decks you are comparing are under 500.
Kenwood used to be good... now they are an entry level JVC, as JVC owns them now. JVC used to be junk and now they are actually really pretty nice.
