I have the wiring harness hooked up and everything works fine. My only problem is that the cd player won't slide all the way back into the dash kit. There is a plastic backplate along with metal behind it keep the cd player from properly fitting. Did anyone have any issues similar to this and what did you do to fix it.

one word, dremmel. you can cut most of it out. just go slow.

 

That's my backup plan. I have already demel'd about 100 things so I am pro when it comes to that. lol

I just dont get how out of 20000 cobalts around the U.S, I am the only one that has run into this problem. Here are some pics.

no mine had it, the patch cables didnt fit, yeah it sucks but i dremmeled out and it works fine. your not the only one, just a lot of people dont talk about it.

btw, what kind of cd player is that, and are you doing any other audio stuff in your car?

 

It's a Clarion DXZ945MP. Touchscreen controls and 5.1 Surround Dolby Digital. It will make the perfect accent to the video screen I will custom install at a later date. As far as future stereo plans, I plan on molding two 12s in the trunk, mb quartz in the doors and Boston Acoustics in the back. All of which will be amplified.

As for the cd player install, I will dremel it out tomorrow. Thanks a lot for your help spyder.
