Clutch Bypass

Which wire would be used to hook up for a clutch bypass for a remote start for an alarm?

My tech sheet says that the 2009 SS/TC has a black 3 pin plug, and it's pin b

But when we look underneath at the clutch pedal we see a 4 pin plug....

So which wire do we tap off of?

Thanks!

Well, with my alarm we programmed it so that I have to set my turbo timer (on the remote/alarm) or put it in a 12 minute runtime for me to activate the remote start. And of course the e-brake has to be on, and it must be in neutral when the turbo timer or the 12 minute runtime is on.

Oh yea! Definitely! And I will have my e-brake inspected & tightened by Chevy every time I get an oil change. . And of course if I'm on a hill or something like that, I will just leave it in gear and I won't remote start it.

The one thing you need to remember is that in winter those ebrakes can freeze up easily I have had it happen numerous times and its not a whole lot of fun. That why in the winter I just put it in gear and forget about the e-brake.

Remote start on a standard is only a fail if you're a retard. I have had one for over 2 years and I live in Maryland where winters suck and I've never had an issue. The clutch wire is yellow and it is a positive trigger, so hook your start output from the unit to the clutch wire and you're done.

yea remote start is win, wish i had it, i always have to walk outside to start the car, then back inside while it warms up. if i could just stand inside press a button n boom cars on that would be sweet. Its a fail if your retarted. i never leave car in gear anyways

Top bad you aren't closer, I could make it so you didn't have to do it manually. I love remote starts on our cars, they are too easy.

if your alarm is somewhat smart then there isnt a way to actually activate the remote start with the car in gear

From what I understood he was trying to bypass the clutch switch.

X2 Because of a neautral safety switch

And yes. My tech sheet shows it being a 3 pin harness with the clutch switch being the lt. green pin in the middle (b), but yet my installer states that there is a 4 pin switch by the clutch.

Yes. Do you know which wire would activate that for me?

I asked you if you had a light green or yellow wire at the switch and you didn't answer.

They do make remote start kits that are meant for Manuals... they require you to pulse the clutch a few times to let the system know that you're in neutral.

Yea. I just didn't want to buy one of those kits, because it's not as nice as the Viper which I have.

Get a test light and push the clutch in with ur hand and see which wire gets hot.Its simple. And there is no neutral safety switches on these cars,so theres no other way for the alarm to know if ur in gear or not unless u get a remote start that are made for manuals.

So did you end up wiring it directly to the green clutch wire? Did you put a resistor in it? A diagram would be great.
