Constant static from one speaker

I have searched and searched and cannot track down what is causing this static. The static only comes from the rear passenger side speaker. Changes with RPM, pops when I push the brake and changes pitch as the interior light dims. I've removed the head unit and looked around countless times and everything looks good but it does go away for a short time when the head unit has been unplugged and plugged back. BTW entire system is stock factory pioneer.

hard to say which but either the HU or stock amp is going to ****. you can try swapping speaker wires at the HU to see if that changes anything

I was afraid it was the unit. I used to be able to slap it and the noise would go away but not anymore.

Btw, how would I swap wires at the head unit? At the harness?

correct. If you were able to slap the unit and it went away then chances are that's what it is. You can try doing a better ground to see if that helps but you may just need to replace it

np.pioneer aftermarket HU's are netorious for that and the fix is grounding the RCA jack to the HU case. Im not sure how to do that on a stock HU since no RCA's though
