Did my first sound with the cobalt...baffled

OK I've been running comps for a few years now and this car is confusing me a bit

Right now i have RCA adapters on the stock subwoofer outputs and im using 2 kicker cvx subs with a 3000w x 1ohm Alphasonik PMA1000HCA more than enough power to put up a high number right?

Well its only running 137.3, the same as I ran a few months ago with only 800w. Granted I forgot my comp cd at home and was stuck using Akon but it should have been at least over 140, also just listening to it in the car it seems like im missing the 20-30hz range totally.

Is this because im still using the factory head unit? Thats the only conclusion I can come to, I dont have that many pressure leaks it just doesnt sound right.

I'd like to know what mine would hit. I'm runnin two 10" Fosgates and a Massive 1,000.1 D Class amp. Hits pretty hard, which was kinda surprising. The 10's are wired for about 3ohms I believe

i have stock head unit
Phoenix gold bass cube set for spl mode
Alphasonik PMA1000HCA set for 1500x2 rms at 1ohm
2 12inch Kicker CVX subs dual 2ohm coils wired for 1 ohm
No soundproofing
I didnt have tones with me I was using Akon - I wanna **** you
this was a sanctioned SLAP event, they use an audiocontrol mic

The subs in my cav hit 142 under the same conditions but with a weaker amp but a totally soundproofed car and Pioneer AVIC N1 head unit

I would be a bit louder in Usaci being they allow you to fan the doors but it doesnt sound right I need an aftermarket head unit to confirm my thoery

stock decks suck, get an eclipse deck with the 7V outputs if you want the most power out of your stuff

well this car isnt going to be a audio freak like the last one, i think im just going to find a **** head unit that has pre outs, wire it straight to battery and ground then run RCAs and remote right to the amp on a cord so I'll be able to control the subs from outside or inside the car and then when the comp is over i can yank the head unit amp and subs, and leave my stock sub and head unit untampered with for my daily driver setup

I hate the weight of the car with all that crap in it and I actually like having a trunk I can use.

lol first of all the car are different. you cant expect the same results... also is your box the same? and for extreme spl sound dampening usually doesnt help (rattles = more noise) but there are various locations where it might. and for spl only things like the bass cube dont help much. but thats all different on music

rattles dont make more noise, they vent pressure into the body of the car, why else then do the ppl running 165+ db use cement in thier cars, your thoery like my trunk wouldnt hold water

the bass cube unit does help by about 1db

dont see why it would... if you got your gain matched to your hu then adding more would just clip the amp giving you a possible lower score. And maybe im wrong but ive never herd of a competitor using sond dampening... I know all about the cement and stuff for supermod competitors but i was talkign about a stock class install
