dont wanna change headunit but want my sub

I had an 06 cobalt SS and in it we had an eclipse cd player with a 15 inch JL sub and amp. we have traded that car for the 09 SS/TC and it comes with the XM for a year. I would like to keep the headunit for a year till that runs out and until we find a different headunit. I want my sub and amp hooked up to the factory headunit. how can I go about doing this? Does anyone have any diagrams? We usually go and have everythign professionally installed but its so damn expensive we are trying to do as much as we can on our own this time. Any help would be appreciated. I know alot of you are gonan say well search for the answer, and i have searched i guess i dont know what to search for becasue i didnt find anything to help. I also have the pioneer 7 speaker system in the car if that matters. thanks again for the help.
