Door locks acting funky

Had my windows tinted a week ago last Monday. Brought car home, parked it in the drive way and locked the car with the fob. Fast forward a week, I drive the car and the unlock button won't unlock the doors. The lock button works with the door closed, but with the door open, I get the delay three chimes but after I close the door it won't lock in five seconds like it should.
First thing I think is programming, but owners manual doesn't list changing button function as an option. I called tint place to see if maybe something may have been left unplugged, they said they do not remove the door panels. Any ideas what to check next? By the way car is a 2009 ss and only has 9300 miles, never had any issues.

Try a new lock switch. Those are known to go bad. If you just got the windows tinted, maybe some soapy water got down in the switch.

Yea i have the same problem. You can try doing a re - learn on the FOB. Or do what I did. I looked at my key and FOB very closely and noticed when I have the FOB too close to my key I can see the Chevrolet bow tie too easily. So, I through the FOB in the trash and learned to use my key to unlock my door. It's been tough, and one time I dropped my keys but I'd say I'm happier. Good luck!

The fob works. The car won't unlock with the door button. Drivers side or passenger side the unlock button does nothing. Kind of strange that both switches would go out at the same time on two different doors.

Oh. Yea idk. I have that problem too lol. I can lock them but can't unlock them. Sucks. But then again, it's a cheap car ya know.. I never cared to research it but I'm pretty confident unlock/lock goes through the same relay. Might be a fuse or a ground issue..

They're probably not both bad but if they're linked in the same circuit, couldn't it cause problems for both? I had my power switches out of my driver door a while back while recovering my inserts. It seems like I remember losing power locks at both doors with only the driver side being unhooked.

If the culprit is soapy water, it's possible both switches got damaged while applying tint to each window? You could try taking the switches apart and cleaning the contacts too.

Since lock and unlock both work with the fob, I would think relay and fuse should be good. So I guess it could be th switches but seems strange. They should be wired parallel, so one shouldn't stop the other from working. Maybe both unlock switches got wet, but then why is the lock delay feature chiming but not working? How so the door panels come off on this car?

The door panels are held in place by clips. You don't need to take the door panel off to service the switches though. There is a cover over 2 screws in the bottom of the door pocket. Remove that cover and the screws then you'll be able to lift out the switch bezel/door pocket and service the switches.

lol if you think thats bad, GM car's are notorious for bad lock actuators, imagine you getting out of your car for a second to pump gas, your car doors are unlocked, windows down, but when you pull the handle nothing happens....over and over and over again. LOL
