Does the factory boost gauge in the LSJ or LNF just reference the 2.5 bar map sensor for its signal source?

Or is it controlled via some other sensor or module that changes signal from what the MAP sensor puts out?

think its from the 2.5 MAP, its pretty much the only sensor in a post blower position, that and the boost solenoid

 

So a facotry boost gague wired directly to the 2.5 MAP sensor should give me a working boost gauge correct?
