Factory GM Navigation HU
So I'm sure you have all seen the Stock GM Navi in the new Silverado's and Sierra's. Ive always liked the stock look HU's. I would like to have the functionality of a touch screen navi HU. So my question is would the Navi HU that comes in the new Silverado's and Sierra's possible fit in my '10 Balt SS with the pioneer system?
I know there's other options in Navi HU's but if i could get this one it would be badass lol
Anybody?

No one has done it, so we don't know all the work that's involved. It should mount up, the wiring is gonna be the madness. Technically it should work if you can get the speaker wires all set up correctly, the antenna wired in, and the accessory and main power wired. It'll probably need reprogrammed to your vin # too.

Looks sick. It is definitely possible and doable. It would require research to figure out what each component requires in order to function correctly. Then its just a matter of figuring out how you can get those necessities to each component! I don't think it would be a simple plug and play deal...it would probably require some re-wiring and such, but no more then what an aftermarket HU with the same options requires...and there are other HU which have the same features as this one and people have been able to get them to work, so again there should be no reason why this cannot work!

I'm defiantly going to look into this, it would be really sick if we could get this to work. If anyone else has some input, especially the local audio gurus around here, please chime in!!

Sub'd for the result. I know the rear speaker colors are black/yellow on the driver side and dark blue/light blue on the driver side. Not sure if that will help any. If you do figure it out, write up a how-to on it. I like to get that in my car as well. Brother got a new Focus and I'm tired of having him go on about his touch screen in it.
I throw this out there though. My car came with the OnStar Nav package, which might use the Satellite antenna on the top of the roof. Not 100% sure on that, so correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just guessing here.
Check to make sure that it will fit in the depth wise unless someone here already said that, in which case I must be blind at the moment.

Well ive been looking into this now, think i found a donor navi to test it. Only thing that doesn't work well with me is that it doesn't have a front mount usb port. Im not positive but it might have one in the back of the HU. If that is the case then i can just wire one down to my center console.
Will keep yall updated, but if there's anymore input please share!

too much... the stock bose has 2 extra plugs so it probably has some crazy active crossover network from the HU to the bose amp. meaning if you got lucky enough to get the thing to turn on getting good sound is going to be a nightmare. unless you plan on getting a jl cleansweep or rockford fosgate 360 but those retail for 400 and 700 respectively (on top of the 879 for the hu)
i had more typed but it was deleted so ill just sum it up with this.... would you rather pay 1300 for an oem looking hu that wont really fit good and would probably loose some functionality or spend that on a top of the line aftermarket radio that will work 100% ???
if you 100% determined on doing this then get a non bose radio. it will make it a hell of a lot easier. Also if anyone tells you this will be easy dont trust them to work on your vehicle

i love the look of the HU i hate the knobs and buttons and flip down screens i just want a clean nice looking HU with maybe a small volume knob and a couple of presets. i would LOVE to have the USB in the back so i could hide the wiring to my mp3 player. ive seen a couple of HU like that on here but never the exact one that i want. i could care less about the navigation feature i just want a clean HU and hook my iphone with usb

but get some color matching retard that hooks up gm lan to 12v or something then you get a fried HU and fried PCM. so assuming you dont pay towing that's a 1500+ mistake right there. the price you will pay isnt too high but close and the risk of something not working or a problem isnt even close to worth it. 900 for a oem navigation unit is well worth it, **** even 1300 isn't bad but unfortunately its not that simple. I think its a good idea to quit while your ahead but well hey what do i know
