Factory XM Antenna on aftermarket head unit.

Has any one done this?
I want to see if it is possible to wire the factory XM antenna to my new HU so that I dont have to find a place to mount the cheap looking aftermarket one.

Ideas on how to do it.

I don't know how XM antennas work honestly.

In this thread they show the type of plug it is. if your new headunit has an xm funtion, perhaps there is a way to either plug this in, splice wires, or find an adapter plug for it. the aftermarket headunit having an XM option would be key in my eyes though.

I believe the factory xm antenna connection works with a xm module add-on for an aftermarket head unit.

Elaborate more please. Like the factory antenna has the same plug on it as an aftermarket receiving unit?

This is the kit I need for my head unit (svx200v1) for my Pioneer avh-x5500bhs

Basically, I want to try and use the factory XM antenna into the SVX control module.
