Factory XM Antenna on aftermarket head unit.
Has any one done this?
I want to see if it is possible to wire the factory XM antenna to my new HU so that I dont have to find a place to mount the cheap looking aftermarket one.
Ideas on how to do it.
I don't know how XM antennas work honestly.

In this thread they show the type of plug it is. if your new headunit has an xm funtion, perhaps there is a way to either plug this in, splice wires, or find an adapter plug for it. the aftermarket headunit having an XM option would be key in my eyes though.

This is the kit I need for my head unit (svx200v1) for my Pioneer avh-x5500bhs
Basically, I want to try and use the factory XM antenna into the SVX control module.

That sums up that question then.
Anyone wanting to use the FACTORY XM antenna with an AFTERMARKET tuner needs the single lead harness posted here: Vehicle Factory Single Lead Antenna to XM/Sirius Adapter
