I have a Compustar on my Red Line. I love it. It has a built in mode for the manual transmission so I didn't have to bypass my neutral safety switch.

My friend has a viper one, he says it works great... until he dropped the remote in some water... but if you don't do that they're good!

When you are ready to get out of the car you leave it running. Take your foot off the brake pedal and pull the parking brake. Then you turn the key off and the car stays running until you get out and shut the door. Once you shut the door the car turns off and locks. It's now ready to remote start. It sounds like more of a pain than it really is.

COMPUstar is a very realiable brand. They are coming out with some long range stuff though for car alarms... My buddy at work has the fm version and it has like 1.25 mile range. In an all concrete warehouse building, he can start his car from the bathroom stall... thats close to 3/4 mile away from the parking lot.

I work at a big toy distribution warehouse... they say something like 17 Boeing 77 jets can fit end to end... it's huge, and it works.

Definately good stuff if your buying new.

so when you get out do you leave your key in it or can you get the bypass module for the smart keys?

I don't have to leave the key in. Other than the process to arm the remote start it operates like any other remote start system.

That model is good. I had it on my old Sunfire for the last 2 years. Now I have the Compustar Pro on my G5 and its awesome!!!! Compustar is a great brand, basically the best brand here that can be professionally installed.

remote starts arnt that hard to put on, but once you get into mods that you can add like windows and other **** it gets alittle more challenging

like on mine i've got outputs on it so i can control other stuff so i've got my windows and sunroof hooked up so i can open and close em from my remote. i also got my illuminated entry set for my neons cause the map lights already come on when i open the door

YA I have the 2-way compustar on my balt... Absolutly love it!!

IT tells you everything, if the doors/trunk/hood are open...and it really isn't a pain at all to sue the remote start with a manual.
