Sadly nothing new happening yet i've been busting my ass on this boat up at work. (i'll have to show y'all what im doing to it, its sweet) I hope on Thursday I'll start glassing my door pods or building my false floor or my dash or just anything that I can do to get my car done!

Dude, my HOUSE doesn't have that much insulation in it!

Hope someone calls you when the apocalypse happens,
cause you won't hear it coming!

^^^Yeah, I live in Maine, and cold creeps through everything.

I don't care how much insulation you have, here everything freezes when it get's
to -40. When it hits 100 degrees here, everyone just stays inside.

That's part of the resaon that I am holding off on getting the Hurst Shifter,
I don't want to hop into the SS in January and have my hand freeze to the shift knob.
(Think tongue to metal)

You laugh, but think about it! Say your hand freezes to the shift knob, and then you get an itch?
things like that are what keeps me up at night, lol

Right now we're in the middle of a heat wave for February. it's getting into the high 20's, low 30's.

It feels like 80 compared to last week, when it was 5 below zero.

I lived in Panama City, FL for almost a year, and one of the guys I worked with kept trying to tell me that the wind coming off from the Gulf was REAL cold.

I just laughed at him. I told him, dude, you can't even comprehend what cold is. Does your breath freeze to your mustache and make icicles on it when the wind comes off the Gulf? No, didn't think so.

My wifes Eclipse has the stock bumpers on it, and the other day on her way to work she ran over a rock that was small enough to get stuck between the treads in her tires that went through the back bumper when it came out, punching out a hole the size of a fist.

Poly bumpers are as brittle as a styrofoam cup when it's 40 below.

40 below!... F that.

Im a puss when it comes to the cold I'd much rather have it 100 than 32, and in texas 32 is cold ****.

Im sure in the heat its still gonna be hot in my ride. Normally in a car when its 100 outside the inside is around 115-125 I'd like it to stay at 100 but I'll have to wait and see.

Ok I haven’t had much time to work on the ride lately but here is the latest update. I have the lower part of my car back together like the runners floor and dash and all wires ran. I have finished my tweeter pods in the A pillars and started work on the door pods. I went to the fabric store to get the fleece and all the colors were the same price. Normally white or black is the cheapest but I decided on bright ass green, hell its getting covered anyways.

Here are the tweeters. They are on axis with each other and a lil higher than I wanted but I needed to clear the hump from the gauges on the dash.

When the resin dried we wanted to see what they looked like so we did a quick mock up I think they look sick.

After all that it was the doors turn. Cut the panels matching the best I could then made a few rings. Made an outer one that was rounded off to give the pod more of a curved look and that way the speaker won’t be sticking out, nice and flush. I then streched out the fleece and laid down some resin. I let that dry then put the first layer of fiberglass down. They aren’t finished at all yet still need to do another layer of fiberglass, then body filler I just ran out of daylight. I still have a lot of work on the doors but at least they are stated.

it gets cold here in IL too, and I never had a problem with my hand freezing to the shifter, cause you almost always have gloves on when it's negetive degrees, My issue was actually burning the damn label / symbol on the top of the metal shifter into my hand when it's 110 and the windows were all closed up....I had to keep a "glove" in the car for the shifter, otherwise I couldn't shift more then one gear in about 5 seconds...And had to be very carefull.

I know that was completely off topic, btu on topic, looks like this build is moving allong well, looks great, and I can't wait to see the finished product. (as finished as these things ever get that is)
